Leslie Kot was born in
Wroclaw,
Poland
-
grew up
listening to Radio Luxemburg,
enjoying all types of music.
B.B. King and The Beatles was L.
biggest influences
from that period.
"They
made me see the light"
At the age
of 16
Leslie formed his first professional rockband Mr. Kot i Ordynansi: Leslie on guitar + vocal
Rysiek Duda
- lead guitar,
Antek Paszkiewicz on bass and Andrzej Tylec (Wiesiek Rusin) on drums.
The band was well known in the 60`s at "Piwnica
Swidnicka" -

During the next 20
years (1966-1986) of L. career as
a vocalist and guitarist L. played concerts
in almost every big town
in Poland with
bands such as
Pakt (his
song "Dialog
pretensjonalny" reached "Nr 2" on the Polish Hit List
published in the magazine "Na przelaj"
in 1973) ,

Kasa Chorych &
Ryszard "Skiba"

L. also toured in England,
Germany, fm. Yugoslavia, Sweden...
1971/73-Leslie (Pakt) worked at Operetka

Sweden
and settled down

In 1986 Leslie estabilished
Rockmusic
School
under the patronage
of Unga Örnar/ABF - Örebro.

Occasionally Leslie plays with his group "Papa Leslie Band"
Writing poetry,
song lyrics, composing and playing music are always a large part of
Leslie`s life.
He looks forward to many new projects that are in the
works..
In 1998 Leslie made his debut as
a poet ( in polish, english and swedish)
with his collection of poems "Thank You Parents"
(Dziekuje Wam Rodzice).
Since then, he has published
three more collections: "Time, time, time"
( Czas, czas, czas) 1999, "Valda dikter" 2000
and "Ojciec Jozef - Blues"
(Father Jozef –
Blues)2001.
These works were published
by FIMAS - Haninge, Sweden.

For devotion to his work with kids he has
been awarded the folowing distinguished
prizes:
700 years
of Örebro - Kultur stipendiu(1988) Lions Club - Youth
Stipendium (1992)
Stipendium of Henry Allard Foundation
(1993) and the Varberga/Kil Kultur Stipendium (1998).
In
2000 he was awarded the MENY PRIZE by
the Örebro county
newspaper
Nerikes Allehanda(MENY)
as
"The Man in
Showbiz 2000".
The MENY PRIZE

The prize itself is made from
bronze
and weight 10 kg
